Whether you are visiting the Arena to participate in sport, exercise, attend a function, or watch the Taylor Hawks play basketball, you will find Arena staff friendly and helpful.

We can accommodate regional, national, and international sports; conferences, expos, music concerts, dinners, and balls. We have a variety of function and meeting rooms, an aerobics or dance studio, consultancy rooms, and a theatre available for hire.

We also have an impressive 24/7 fitness centre, Arena Gym, with Les Mills virtual classes also available 24/7, which completes the facility, making it a truly all-purpose venue and the focus for sports in Hawke’s Bay.

Looking for a function room to hire? The Arena has several options for you to choose:

• The Aerobics/Dance studio, with front and back mirrored walls; this room has a max capacity of 50 people.

• The Simkin Room has a max capacity of 50 people and is situated on the the 1st floor of the facility. This room has projector and internet facilities available.  

• The Harris Room has a max capacity of 50 people and is situated on the the 1st floor of the facility. This room has projector and internet facilities available.

• The Harris & Simkin Room share an internal wall that can be moved for your convenience, creating one large function room to suit your needs, this also has microphone facilities available.

• The Lady Pettigrew Theatre has 80 built in seats with a raised theatre style seating plan and is situated on the first floor of the facility This room has a projector, theatre stage curtains, internet, and microphone facilities available.

• The Board Room has a max capacity of 20 people and is situated on the 1st floor of the facility.

Our sporting set-ups include, Basketball, Futsal, Netball, Badminton, Pickleball and Volleyball. We have grandstand seating available for a show court event, or if you prefer empty court space, we can do that too. All courts have divider sports drapes for your convenience.
