SYDENHAM INDOOR CENTRE

Club members can access discounted rates for lane bookings. Sign in/Sign up to Pay2Play then apply for membership using the Join button. We check these requests against club databases. Membership will only be granted if you have registered to play club cricket for the 2023/24 season.

Terms of Use

In booking the Centre you agree to abide by the following terms & conditions
when using the facility.
Hirers responsibility (the person or Club making the booking):

1. The hirer must ensure they or their representative is present throughout the booking period.
2. The hirer is responsible for the health and safety of all those participating in the booking when using the facility and agrees to take all sensible precautions to protect their group health and safety.
3. Users under the age of 14 must be supervised whilst in the centre.
4. The hirer must ensure the good conduct of all those participating in the booking, including spectators.
5. The hirer acknowledges that the facility has internal security cameras that monitor the use of the facility in real time.
6. Hirers and users can only use the Centre for the purposes it was hired for.
7. Hirer cannot transfer bookings to another hirer without written permission from the Centre.
8. A flashing light and alarm rings when a hire time is up. A 15 min turnaround slot exists for bookings to exit and enter the Centre. Within that window, the hirer must ensure all users and spectators leave the Centre before the booking time concludes and must not enter the Centre before the start of their booking. Booked times must be adhered to.

Cricket-specific requirements:

1. The Centre expects helmets to be always worn when either batting or taking throwdowns in the nets. The batter must take full personal responsibility if they fail to do so.
2. The hirer must only use the lane which has been booked by the user, even if the other lanes are vacant.
3. Standard net session rules should be applied within the indoor facility.
4. Do not turn your back on batters.
5. Be aware of what is happening around you.
6. Use appropriate language.
7. Manage the nets safely.
8. Encourage and support others.
9. Respect the facility.
10. Bowling machine (only available to members):
    1. There is an additional charge for using the bowling machine, which should also be booked in advance.
    2. Anyone operating the bowling machine must be at least 18 years of age and use due care in such operation.
    3. Only bowling machine-specific balls should be used. Do not use leather cricket balls or tennis balls. Only jugs/Bola dimpled rubber balls can be used and these are available in the centre – any missing after your hire are at the hirer’s cost.

Health & Safety

1. Unsafe, offensive behaviour or actions may result in the hirer or users being asked to leave or refused entry. This is at the discretion of Centre staff.
2. Young children enter the netted area at their caregiver risk. (They need to be always accompanied by an adult.)
3. Climbing or hanging on the nets is NOT permitted.

Property & equipment

1. The Centre takes no responsibility for the security of valuables whilst using the Indoor Centre.
2. The Centre takes no responsibility for equipment left behind in the Centre after use. However, responsible actions are expected to occur when finding others belongings and can be returned to the Centre manager.
3. The hirer must immediately report any damage to the premises, facilities, or equipment to the Centre managers via email sydenhamindoorcentre@gmail.com and accept responsibility for any damage caused during the period of hire by the group and will be liable for the costs of rectifying the damage.
4. Upon completion of a training session, please ensure that the facility is left in a state where the subsequent users can begin their session upon entry. (Nets, lights, Stumps, Bowling Machine, Rubbish).

General

1. No food or drink (except water) will be consumed inside the facility. Smoking, including vaping, is also strictly prohibited.
2. All rubbish is to be removed from the Centre upon exiting.
3. Bookings for any non-cricket training must be for the entire facility.
4. Studded/spiked footwear is not permitted to be worn in any part of the Centre.
5. The retractable cricket nets dividing the lanes are to remain at full length unless the hirer has booked the entire facility. Care should be taken when moving the retractable nets to ensure safe operation.

Refunds:

1. If you cancel an existing booking more than 24 hours before the scheduled booking time, you are entitled to a full refund by way of a voucher issued to you for future use. Refunds will not be available if you cannot use the booking and cancellation has not been advised by email 48 hours before the booking time. This includes Members who fail to take up their booking.
2. All cancellations or alternations to bookings must be made in writing via email sydenhamindoorcentre@gmail.com and are not confirmed until a response is received.
3. The Club will make every effort to ensure there are no double bookings between private sessions and Club organised sessions and/or maintenance. However, the Club reserves the right to cancel any booking at any stage. A full refund will automatically be paid to the hirer of any bookings cancelled by the Club.

Additional charges

The hirer must pay the following charges, in addition to the total hire fee, in the event of the following situations:

1. An additional cleaning fee if the Centre reasonably considers the facility has been left in an unsatisfactory state at the end of the hire period.
2. All associated costs if the fire alarm is activated maliciously or because of misuse of the Centre.
3. All repair or replacement costs relating to any damage to the Centre, or any other property owned by the Centre resulting from lack of care or other breaches of this agreement by hirer, users, or spectators.
4. All costs to replace any property owned by the Centre stolen during the hire period.
5. Users have not vacated the Centre by the specified time.
6. If any bowling machine balls are missing after your hire period.
